London, United Kingdom, 21 November 2018 – Following the recent opening of its two UK availability zones, Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group, has today announced the full extent of the products and services now available to businesses within the EMEA region.

Alibaba Cloud’s UK data centres now offer a wide range of technology solutions – including Cloud Computing, Data Platforms, and Security. Within these product areas are numerous vertically-focused tools, helping organisations from multiple industries – including retail, financial services, digital media & entertainment, manufacturing and logistics – to extract business value out of data intelligence.

Carefully developed to address key challenges in the EMEA market, Alibaba Cloud’s product portfolio speaks to four key areas:

• Online Availability
• Big Data & Analytics
• Security & Privacy
• Cutting-edge Technology

Alongside Alibaba Cloud’s comprehensive suite of industry-leading data centre solutions – including Elastic Computing, Storage, Database, Network, Application Services and Big Data Analytics – the new UK data centres have also launched several leading-edge technologies, including:

Global Network Solution

Alibaba’s Cloud network technology has now evolved into its third generation – offering the ability to connect to multiple sites on Alibaba Cloud’s backbone network. Simple to use and with flexible cost management, organisations can connect multiple regions within one network, aided by automatic route learning for a fully-optimised and efficient set up.

“The industry leading technologies we’re now able to offer through our two new UK availability zones are yet another demonstration of Alibaba Cloud’s continued commitment to delivering the best possible service to our clients within the EMEA region,” said Yeming Wang, General Manager of Alibaba Cloud EMEA.

“Through the implementation of these new technologies, customers will benefit from unprecedented levels of security, connectivity and data driven insight – all of which delivers real time benefits to their businesses. This is particularly important to our vertical cloud customers in retail, finance, manufacturing, logistics and broadcast & media.”

Alibaba Cloud announced the opening of two availability zones in the UK in October 2018; its third set of availability zones within the EMEA region, after Frankfurt and Dubai. The expansion further enables organisations in the region to accelerate the upgrade of their digital infrastructure and enjoy more efficient digital transformation initiatives.
