Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve made it our priority to do everything in our power to protect our team members and their families while continuing to serve our customers’ needs. And all along, we’ve maintained our focus on giving back to the communities where we live and work, applying our technologies, skills, and resources to address the challenges posed by one of the most significant pandemics the world has ever faced.

At HPE, giving back to our communities is part of our DNA. I’m proud to say we’re as determined as ever to stand behind our belief that the betterment of society is a responsibility shared by all. And to ensure we make an impact where it’s needed most, today we’re announcing that, for the second consecutive year, we’re joining forces with Fast Forward, a nonprofit organization with the mission of unlocking the power of the tech community to tackle some of the world’s biggest social challenges.

“HPE is as determined as ever to stand behind our belief that the betterment of society is a responsibility shared by all.”

As part of our 2020 HPE Accelerating Impact campaign, which is entirely funded by the HPE Foundation,  every HPE team member will have the opportunity to make a difference by donating $25 to one of 40 participating nonprofit tech startups that are building original software or hardware to advance the way people live and work. Whether it’s using technology to help communities combat the consequences of the current pandemic or developing technology-based programs to defend basic human rights, the diversity of the causes is what makes this campaign so unique.

But it’s not just about the money. Our team members have contributed their time and skills to supporting these organizations. And by highlighting the work of these innovative nonprofit organizations, we aim to elevate and amplify the good they are doing to help them succeed over time. Our goal is to build a community of technological innovators who are truly connected to the communities they serve and willing to give their time to accelerate social impact year-round.

“We want to build a community of technological innovators who are truly connected to their communities.”

I’ve already decided who to support with my $25 credit: it’s Medic Mobile. This tech nonprofit builds open source software to support community health workers in places where most people don’t have an opportunity to see a doctor. Medic Mobile’s community health app supports frontline health workers who are performing life-saving work, including the tracking and treatment of COVID-19.

I’m excited to imagine what we can all do to positively benefit our global communities by participating in this year’s Accelerating Impact campaign. Together, we truly are a force for good!
